About Me

I am a creative, dynamic communications professional with 2+ years of experience searching for my next opportunity.

As a digital and broadcast journalist at Gray Television, I learned to multitask and sharpen my research and project management skills, while frequently switching between different writing and formats. Working in a small newsroom taught me to write quickly, concisely and accurately under tight, ever-changing deadlines. As part of the digital team, I became familiar with search engine optimization and social media analytics. I curated and posted content to the station’s social media audience of over 200,000 people on Facebook and 40,000 on Twitter. The most important skill I gained from my time as a journalist is the ability to take in complicated information on policy and statistics and transform it into clear, conversational writing.

My proudest accomplishment at Valley News Live was developing and producing their brand new 4 p.m. newscast, which quickly grew to surpass the ratings of competing newscasts on other stations. I was also responsible for enterprising and producing 3+ hours of news coverage each morning as a key member of the Valley Today team.

During my time as a production intern at WJXT News4Jax, the dominant #1 station in the Jacksonville, Fla. market, I managed the studio floor during a five hour long morning-lifestyle show. This involved coordinating several rotating anchors, reporters and guests each hour, while keeping track of audio and video equipment. I gained experience working on a studio floor as well as in a control room, and operating multiple types of cameras and supports, including automated studio cameras, Steadicam and jib crane. I also carried out administrative tasks to support production department.

As the social media assistant for the University of North Florida School of Communication, I gained experience creating content on multiple social media platforms for an academic organization while adhering to brand standards. I learned event planning and bookkeeping skills as the president of the UNF Multimedia Club.

Through my coursework, I became proficient in Adobe creative software, including Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, and Illustrator. I also have experience with both Mac and PC systems, the Microsoft Office programs, basic coding and web design (HTML, CSS), as well as content management systems.

As a reporter at Spinnaker Media, the University of North Florida’s student-run media source, I fine-tuned my journalism writing and video editing skills while gaining experience interviewing and working under deadlines. I also produced, recorded and edited a weekly podcast about professional wrestling for Spinnaker Radio.
